EPIC Girl is a 501c3, charitable non-profit organization founded in 2016 to address disparities in programs for girls. Since our inception we have served over 1200 girls through our educational program and the runaway screening program (SARA) which we provide in partnership with the Davidson County Detention Center.
Our aim is to build strength through educational curriculums and mentoring for girls ages 14-18, many of whom are caught in the court system or child welfare system. We believe that relationship is the catalyst for change and that through meaningful connections girls build resiliency.
At our core, we all desire:Our educational curriculums are geared toward prevention, desiring to reduce the risk of exploitation through trafficking or other forms of profiteering as well as prevent the repetition of cycles of poverty, abuse, neglect and other issues that perpetuate oppression specifically for black and brown girls.
We currently serve teen girls in Davidson, Williamson and Robertson Counties and have long-term goals to expand services to implement screening in court systems across Tennessee.
